Our team is expert in the
diagnosis for conditions that include coronary artery and acquired heart
disease in adults and congenital heart disease in children and adults. Specific
disorders for which patients may be referred can include chest pain, shortness
of breath, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies and defects in the size and
shape of the heart.
The state-of-the-art
technology used by Cardiovascular & Thoracic Imaging includes an MRI
scanner that is equipped for cardiac analysis and a CT scanner − one that
allows imaging of high heart rates and can capture 128-slice images with every
heartbeat.
We are committed to using
the least-invasive procedures with the lowest level of radiation possible for
each patient. For example, coronary CTA examination is performed routinely in
patients with low-to-intermediate risk factors for coronary artery disease
instead of an invasive catheter angiogram. CTA examinations of the thoracic and
abdominal aorta are available prior to or following surgery or minimally
invasive procedures.
We also specialize in
acute and chronic pulmonary, mediastinal, pleural and chest wall diseases.
Our work is fully digitized, and major imaging modalities offered include chest X-rays, CT and MRI. Biopsies of thoracic lesions and drainage procedures of thoracic tissue also are performed.
