DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Make accurate documentation of the patient’s health and the procedures involved in the delivery and post-delivery care.
  • Report the status of the mother and the infant to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate patient using a holistic approach or in another word, look after the medical needs of the patients while also tending to their psychosocial and emotional needs.
  • Establish a rapport with the patients to accurately evaluate their immediate needs.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to the junior nurses and the support staff.
  • Analyze the heartbeat patterns and CTG readings.
  • Ensuring that the women with advanced maternal age receive special attention during the childbirth and post-delivery.
  • Establish a nurturing and family-centered environment for the patients.
  • Offer support and education the mothers about the optimal health care needs after delivery.
  • Able to assess antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, and balancing demands all stakeholder.
  • Proficient in operating equipment required for patient care.
  • Proficient in identifying and dealing with obstetrical emergencies.
  • Assists Neonatologists in Birthing Unit and OR with assessment and care of newborn.
  • Establish a comfortable environment during the treatment process by extending psychological and emotional support to the patients.
  • Prepares patients for emergency and elective Cesarean sections.
  • Assists with transport of patients to other areas in hospital.
  • Delivers initial stabilization of the newborn, administer newborn medication, assists with procedures, and maintains early vital signs.
  • Provides advocacy, education, and care from pregnancy through to postpartum phases including fetal and infant care.
  • Responsible for emergency and management (including codes).
  • Effective management and prioritization of cases in labor for further & continuation management.
  • You must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality concerning health service records and information.
  • You should have the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and without error.
  • Promotes & develops teamwork within a multi professional environment demonstrating critical analysis & division making skills, and high quality nursing services.
  • Being well organized and detail-oriented will help you correctly follow all procedures and ensure the safety of yourself your patients, and your coworkers.
  • Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
  • Enhance patient experience and ensure coordination of the patient’s journey by planning throughout the hospitalization.

  • EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
  • Diploma/ bachelor’s in nursing graduate.
  • License to practice nursing in Kuwait.
  • Yearly unit and divisional competency review.
  • Maintains certification of BLS, BLSO and NRP certification desired.
  • May attend ACLS as recommended.
  • Able to communicate both written and oral English, Arabic language skills desired but not required.

  • PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
  • Five years’ experience in nursing required.
