Doorman (only local Male candidates)

The first person a guest encounters when entering the hospital premises; the position entails opening doors for guests and greeting them as they come in, but can include other services such as carrying luggage and receiving packages.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide a warm, courteous and professional welcome to all patients and guests upon arrival and departure.
  • Open vehicle doors immediately once the vehicle comes to a complete stop.
  • Remain at the assigned post at all times to ensure continuous assistance and support.
  • Assist guests and patients during arrival and departure in a courteous and professional manner to retrieve guest belongings safely and promptly from vehicles.
  • Manage immediate needs from the assigned post with efficiency and attentiveness.
  • Write, read, and match luggage tags accurately, ensuring all items are properly labeled and securely stored.
  • Ensure hospital entrances remain clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Report any guest complaints, concerns, or feedback promptly.
  • Provide special assistance to guests and patients requiring wheelchairs or additional support.
  • Safely handle wheelchairs and emergency equipment as required.
  • Respond promptly and act appropriately during Emergency Code calls in accordance with hospital procedures.

  • EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
  • Although we generally require and look for those with High School diploma, there are no formal education requirement to become a Doorman, good people skills and physical strength are more important as a basis for this position.
  • Newly-hired Doorman will mandatory receive on-the-spot trainings that can last up to 3months.

  • PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in similar position
  • Computer Literate (knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel at least)
  • Fluency in English

  • SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
  • Ability to communicate verbally and written in English.
  • Knowledge of Arabic language would be an asset.
  • Experience working abroad is an advantage.
  • Positive attitude and helpful manner.
  • Must have a pleasant demeanor during stressful periods or when dealing with an impatient/irate guest.

  • PHYSICAL EFFORT REQUIRED:
  • Pleasant physical appearance.
  • Can at least push a 150-pound person on a wheelchair.
  • Must be able to lift/carry heavy things.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long/extended periods of time.
  • Able to work on rotating shift.
